Grounded

Love
is a place

Balmy days
blinding storms
times of vigor
– and drought

Sometimes
we choose love
sometimes, love chooses us
I have never fully understood it.

For some, love
is less a matter of choosing
it is just the place where one lives

There are people
who seem to float through life
untouched or
untouching – I don’t know which

Though
the thought seems
divine, I never learned to float

My heart
has been so broken
and then again
so full as to be unspeakable

To live in love is to risk all

If
at the end of the day
no matter how it ends
you can look from a place called love
– somehow, your heart
will always sustain itself. I promise.
